Brass

Brass is a timeless material known for its warm golden hue and natural elegance. Used across classic and contemporary designs, it adds character and depth.
As a living metal, it will develop a patina over time unless protected.
Many Louis Poulsen lamps are crafted from untreated or lacquered brass, carefully chosen for its enduring beauty.

Care instructions:

Aged brass
Our aged brass is lacquered to preserve its look and prevent natural patination. Simply wipe it gently with a soft, damp microfibre cloth. Avoid polishing or harsh cleaners.

Brushed or polished brass that is unlacquered or untreated
These finishes develop a natural patina over time. To maintain the original shine, polish occasionally with a brass-specific polish and clean regularly with a soft microfibre cloth.

Lacquered and metallised brass
Protected by a lacquer coating, these finishes resist patination. Clean them gently with a damp microfibre cloth, avoiding abrasive or chemical cleaners.
