Louis Poulsen recommends selecting a light source based on your needs:

For reading and work, a cooler light with a higher Kelvin value (approximately 3000K) is preferable.
For a cosy atmosphere, a warmer light with a lower Kelvin value (around 2700K or lower) is ideal.

With Poul Henningsen’s three-shade design, the light bulb should always remain discreetly within the middle shade to avoid glare and ensure optimal light distribution to the top shade.
