A heritage of thoughtful design

Since its founding in Copenhagen in 1874, Louis Poulsen has worked with the belief that light should bring quality and a sense of calm to a space. Guided by the principle that form follows function, Louis Poulsen has created lighting that stands apart from trends and reflects Danish design and craftsmanship.

PH 5 is a central part of this tradition. Poul Henningsen designed the pendant in 1958 as a response to the changing light-source shapes of the time, and his three-shade system ensures gentle, glare-free light. Its functional and timeless design has made PH 5 an internationally recognised icon.
