Billund Church, in Denmark, designed by Kuno and Ejner B. Mielby and completed in 1973 as part of Billund Centre, underwent a thoughtful and significant transformation in 2023 to mark its 50th anniversary.

As part of the architectural reinterpretation of Billund Church in 2023, developed by Anna Mette Exner Arkitektur, the lighting was conceived as a cohesive, scenographic whole, where functional illumination and atmosphere work in close harmony.

The existing luminaires were supplemented and partly replaced with new PH Artichoke pendants, supporting a calmer and more coherent lighting experience throughout the church interior.

At the heart of the space, PH Artichoke serves as a striking suspended luminaire, providing a warm, diffused light while bringing the church interior together around a clear spatial focal point.
