FAQ

Louis Poulsen lighting solutions are sold worldwide. Each luminaire has its own history, and no design detail is left to chance. This means that each component is important for the quality of the illumination. Also, many of Louis Poulsen’s products are collector’s items, and are passed on from one generation to the next. Consequently, many people ask questions of both a technical and functional nature. We have compiled some of the most frequently asked questions below.

If you cannot find an answer to your question here you can contact us by email or by phone +45 70 33 14 14.

Repairs for products outside warranty

Unfortunately, we are unable to repair lamps which are not covered by a warranty, but please contact one of our dealers, and they may be able to help.

Installing pendants with integrated LED

Pendants with integrated LED must always be installed using
the driver supplied following the mounting instructions. A pendant with
integrated LED cannot be installed directly onto the mains voltage as this will
be destructive to the LED board. Please be aware that most pendants with
integrated LED comes in multiple boxes. Typically with canopy including driver
in one separate box and the pendant in a second separate box.

Finding mounting instructions

Please, find all mounting instructions under Downloads.

Finding the right light source

Please see the latest recommendations in our online light source overview.

Changing the light source on the Enigma 425/545

The base of the light source must be rotated approx. 180 degrees anticlockwise before it can be removed from Enigma. When inserting a new light source, the small legs on the GU10 light source match the small holes in the GU10 socket. When they are aligned, secure the light source by the rotating the base approx. 180 degrees clockwise.

Registering lamps

All lamps can be registered, including those lamps which do not have a registration number. All lamps packed after December 2009 are supplied with two small stickers bearing the same six-digit number. One sticker should be affixed to the lamp, while the other should be saved together with the receipt or in a safe place. Some of our lamps are supplied engraved with a unique 14-digit ID number, which makes it possible to identify individual lamps. If your lamp has an engraved 14-digit ID number, this will be stated in the mounting instructions and on the enclosed certificate.

Lamps can be registered at the Product Registration. You can also save a copy of the receipt or a photograph of the lamp. This enables you to document your ownership of the lamp in the event of loss or theft. If this becomes relevant, please contact us at productreg@louispoulsen.dk
