“For me, colours are a very powerful tool of communication. I like the fact that it carries multiple meanings – that it can be something superficial, simply a beautiful colour, but something deeper as well.
I might choose a colour for a piece based on one I’ve used before, because it made sense or provided a good contrast at the time, but if I return to the painting a month later, that colour suddenly tells me I was in a particular mood when I painted it. And that’s what I think is amazing, because it reflects something deep inside me.
There’s so much emotion in colours. And so much storytelling.”
