With two Michelin stars, Kadeau Copenhagen is one of Denmark’s top restaurants and a leader in New Nordic cuisine. Naturally, its lighting is also distinctively Nordic, featuring classic designs by Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen.
Kadeau Copenhagen builds on the success of the original Kadeau restaurant on the Danish island of Bornholm, and everything about the place takes inspiration from its Bornholm heritage. At this intimate restaurant, the focus is firmly on the craft of cookery and quality seasonal produce. There’s an open kitchen with numerous jars of preserved ingredients on display, and a wood-fired oven at the center of it all.
Louis Poulsen worked with Jacob Kornum architects to create lighting that complements Kadeau Copenhagen’s design and atmosphere. The restaurant uses a special edition of Poul Henningsen’s PH 3/2 pendant as well as PH Wall, and the AJ Wall fitting by Arne Jacobsen.
The resulting look is unmistakably Nordic while also feeling warm and welcoming, reminiscent of the feel of a beach hotel on Kadeau’s native Bornholm.
